Breathe It In
There’s something really special about Colorado mountain air. From the moment you arrive in Vail, you can feel the refreshing and rejuvenating alpine energy. Vail Village sits at just over 8,000 feet in elevation, and this inspiring place provides every guest at Vail Mountain Lodge with the ability to interact with the area in his or her own individual way. Chat with the on-site concierge to find out the endless possibilities ahead of you: ride a cruiser bike through town, or take a vigorous pedal up Vail Pass over to Copper Mountain; walk through the Betty Ford Gardens, just minutes from the Vail Mountain Lodge, or hike (or ski) one of the state’s fourteen-thousand foot peaks; shop around town, or enjoy fine dining at its best. If you’re making Colorado your home-away-from-home, take in every ounce of goodness that you can while you’re here.
Vacations are meant to be relaxing, but sometimes it’s take a little spa time to really sink into peace and serenity. Massages, facials and speciality treatments available at the Vitality Center spa are what the body needs to really relax — whether you’ve been traveling all days or are getting back from a few hours of playing out in the mountains. Deep tissue massages are great for rainy days or apres-ski, and signature treatments make the experience indulgent. Try the Coffee and Sea Kelp Body Scrub — an invigorating body scrub with organic coffee, sea kelp and pumice. The 50-minute treatment is completed with an application of organic coconut cream to promote skin elasticity. Facials like the 75-minute Radiant Vitality experience go deep — it’s a result-focused facial includes a medical-grade microdermabrasion treatment and an ultrasound serum penetration.
Head outside in the morning for one of endurance trainer Ellen Miller’s outdoor fitness classes. They are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 a.m. in the summer and 7:30 p.m. in the winter, and will get you out on Vail Mountain before your day fills up. Guests, rent your outdoor gear in town to try mountain biking or skiing on the mountain — just minutes away from the front door of the Vail Mountain Lodge. The convenience gets even better, as Vail Mountain Lodge provides free ski storage at the base of Gondola One, so there’s no need to struggle with equipment to begin or end a great day.
