Belay certification tests are offered regularly on the fitness schedule in order for members and guests to be able to climb on the VAC wall without a staff member. Climbers must be 14 years old in order to attempt the belay certification test or be allowed to boulder without direct adult supervision. Direct supervision means that one adult is standing near and paying careful attention to any minor climber. VAC instructors are available for daily private and group lessons.
Any person who climbs on the wall, whether bouldering, top roping, or lead climbing, must complete a VAC liability waiver for the climbing wall.
